bible study was a small quiet affair with Becky, Luke, Jared, Pastor and myself in attendance. apparently i'll miss out on a Casting Crowns concert in March. Their cat was friendly-stealing my seat as I slipped out of my shoes. Ms. Cindy had hot water ready for cocoa. =)
this morning's presentation proved vastly different than marketing. IBM's strenghts come from their global presence (35% of 2006 sales from the Middle East, Europe and Africa. 20% from the Asian pacific) long standing corporate customer relationships and a third bullet point I forget without my index cards in front of me. Having five other members helps spread the tension around. You are not standing in front of a group of thirty strangers alone, being judged on your content, grammar and style.
whiped out the two and a half pages after class for the linguistics take-home. i thought sleep last night more important than staying up to two unproductively at home. oddly phrased. supported my position throughout from a list of nine universal ideas about language i found in my notes from week two of class. two other dog-earred sections showed implications for teachers of english in a classroom. chapter two dealing with the brain and language, provided fodder for a few paragraphs about lateralization (two hemispheres and the corpos callosum switch of control).
Have to analyze two poems for 10am spanish class after work today. (group meeting for marketing first-- definately love the universal remote idea we brainstormed yesterday). 1 and 1/2 pages to add to Byzantium report for History.
