Ballet Basics

http://www.pbt.org/kids/positions.html
First through Fifth positions of the feet and arms. We are working from the fifth foot position and my turnout while not the ideal 180 degrees is not bad for a person who hasn't danced for three years. The second arm position can hurt in the shoulder blades if held too high. Hands rest gracefully about waist high.

A lot of work for an "A". Holly and I will get there by sheer determination.

Watching the teacher mark the steps to the music helps but I watch the other girls throughout the exercise. I am working at not looking at my feet when completing the barre exercises. Cannot do a split or a pirouette. Goals for the semester: to increase flexibility, complete the barre warm-up correctly, re-learn the vocabulary and maybe buy new tights without runs
