Dear Stephanie, Faith, Anna, Jeanne and any other reader:
History doesn't have to repeat itself as demonstrated by events this evening.
To begin with back story: I work at Panera Bread, were I met the guy Neil Bonsteel and proceeded to date from a far and during school breaks for six months. 2005 era
So, over the last month I have attended school M-F and worked S-S. My skills encompass the cafe, barista, bakery and cash. As a closer in bakery it takes a long while to box/bag up everything for donations, restock the refrigerator (etc) sweep and mop. It can take two hours if you're unexperienced and working alone.
Well, Teddy works in the line making salads, soups, and sandwiches for the hungry masses. Line workers generally are the first associates done, clocked out and home partying.
Teddy stays after and helps us close bakery. However, there remains in the air the unspoken question of are you single? looking for a platonic friendship or more? ~ now Teddy is a high school student who attends Wi High, wakes up before school (4:00) to tutor Pre-Calculus, and is the tennis captain. Nice to find in one package, no? Did I mention the dark hair?.
However, as wisdom prevails, dating any co-worker, younger, in high school person just sends off warning bells.
It was funny to see the texting conversation of "my friend Ryan was going through my contacts tonight"... not knowing if this friend exists... "and he wants to know if you have a boyfriend?" Me: "Sorry but I have to finish my bachelor's." LOL.
So letting a guy down gently without leading him on is a fine line we females walk at times. Laugh it off. And we did.
In completely different Panera news, we missed tying the all-time sales record by $300 Saturday. There was an ultimate frisbee tournament this weekend at SU, and most of the 48 teams were holed up in the hotels on Panera's side of town. Fun to see all the "foreign" credit cards from Swarthmore & Boston College. Busy night!
So for anyone still reading here is my short list:
Male
Christian
Bachelor's + (or working towards)
Older
buenos noches or should i say manana as it is after 12.
