Aceituna (Olive)

Today was a bit morose around school. Jenny reading her e-mails learned that her roommate will be transferring to JMU in the fall. While I tried to encourage her that it is a good school (Sarah, Jamie, the Garritys), I think it helped more to give a quick hug and the brief heart talk of my three roommates transferring out of Randy-Mac freshmen year. Bonnie- Philly, PA. Tallie- Mary Washington, VA. and Gabby Quinnapeac, NJ. Difficult to see an upbeat personality low.

Coupled with the news of her roommate, the girls living in El Palo discovered that they are expected to pay for the taxi ride to the airport. For them it will cost over 20€ so quite an unpleasant surprise. I hope to ride again with Nick (a cost of 8€ split in half) but never assume, imply or infer right?

Natalie, McKenzie and a couple others are looking into a daytrip to Gibraltar. Since the Spanish are unhappy with the fact that England still owns Gibraltar, they charge an entrance fee of about 25€. One of Nick´s roommates went one past weekend to Morocco and took a ten hour train ride into the interior. Awaking to the sight of desert made him feel quite unsettled. He may go with us, but we all need to take a good hard look at our personal finances.

I really love our language instructor, Loli Matín. She is slightly older than us students. Her outfit every morning is beautiful. (Shallow I know, but Spaniards wear better quality clothes than we do and tend to were skirts more.) Compared to the other section (they divided the twelve of us the first day into a group of 4 students and one of eight) we receive more notes. I find her explanations helpful, orderly and personalized. So far we have covered all the present and past tenses, commands and moved today into the subjunctive tense.
