In my 310 class, the newest assignment is to write a) un cuento breve original - an original short story or b) una versión actualizada de un cuento de hadas, una leyenda o un cuento clásico - a modern day fairy tale. Of course this is a fun topic with the Enchanted movie newly released, Ella Enchanted, Beauty and the Uglies books. I borrowed a book from my sister's shelf, The World's Best Fairy Tales, to look up old favorite titles. Specifically I am looking for one that could be seen in fresh light.
