I know there are no short-cuts in life, the tortoise always beats the hare, but when composing spanish papers it is nice to know the easy way to add accents. I sent a message to a classmate and thought perhaps some blog reader might find it useful also. Earlier this semester I had to search for directions online for both a macintosh (my home computer) and Windows XP (the school labs).

this is a ten step process to switch the layout of your keyboard
1. log on
2. click start
3. " control panel
4. " regional and language option
5. " languages tab
6. " on the details button
7. " add button
8. Select Spanish- International Sort (keyboard layout menu)
9. Click OK
10. " apply
